The Auroch, Europe's native wild cattle, went extinct in 1627, but some of its DNA lived on in domestic ancestors. This allowed Dutch conservationists and scientists to use back-breeding techniques to creature the Tauros, also known as Auroch 2.0, which is now learning to live in the wild and fulfil the role of its ancestors as an ecosystem architect.
