Between where the Okavango river enters Botswana and the fan shaped Delta downstream is an area known as the Okavango Pan Handle - around 11km wide and 70km long the so called pan handle is a thick green mass of twisting river channels, dead papyrus and reed beds - the area is known for its abundance of fish, birds and water loving mammals
