Searching for Snow Hares follows writer and mountaineer Dr Yvonne Reddick on a winter journey through the Cairngorms and the Peak District in search of one of Britain’s most elusive mammals. As she tracks mountain hares across fragile upland landscapes, the film reveals how warming winters, habitat loss, and unpredictable snow threaten species perfectly adapted to cold conditions. Blending personal reflection, wildlife science, and voices from climbers, ecologists, and conservationists, the film explores how climate change is altering both animal behaviour and human relationships with the mountains. It is a quiet, powerful portrait of survival, connection, and the urgency of protecting what remains. By Film maker Dr Aleks Domanski
