Oaitse Nawa a father, safari guide and conservationist, runs the Elephants Protection Society, an NGO tackling the growing conflict between people and elephants in Botswana. As human deaths and elephant killings rise in wildlife-bordering villages, his NGO organisation educates communities on elephant behaviour and promotes tools for peaceful co-existence. Recognising elephants as a keystone species vital to ecosystems and tourism, Oaitse brings both personal experience and ecological insight to this complex challenge.
