2023 Whitley Award winner, Dr Tulshi Laxmi Suwal of Nepal is working to protect pangolins – the most trafficked mammal in the world – and their habitat. Pangolin habitat is increasingly threatened by the growing prevalence of forest fires, which also put at risk an important reforestation programme in one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change.
