Rewilding The Riverbank
01-Dec-2023
Nature is in crisis, with many issues striking closer to home than we might think. 45% of British mammals are now deemed at risk, a quarter threatened with extinction. One of our rarest native species, the water vole, was once a riverbank regular but today it’s the UK’s fastest declining mammal.
This film follows an ambitious new project, aiming to bring water voles back from the brink, in a region where the species has been locally extinct for over 30 years. Following this challenging conservation story, we explore the difficulties of saving rare species and Rewilding the Riverbank, filmed in Cornwall in the United Kingdom with Dr Natasha Phillips and film maker Lawrence Eagling.
