Searching For Sea Turtles In Grenada
01-Dec-2023
On the 12 square mile island of Carriacou, Grenada a team of scientists, fishermen and a wildlife veternarian assemble. They're here to conduct the first ever in-water survey of hard-shelled sea turtle around the island. With no prior data to go off of, they only have the local knowledge of beaches where turtles have been seen nesting and areas where the fishermen say they see turtles. The film follows their mission to catch, tag and release as many sea turtles as possible over a 2 week period in hopes of presenting this data to the Grenadian government to end the annual sea turtle hunting season.
