Sneak Peak: Living with Snow Leopards Dolma and Chodon

Dolma and Chodon live with their families in the high Himalayan village of Kibber India a population of roughly 450 people. Their families depend on their livestock to survive. What concerns them is when their animals fall prey to the stealthy preditor, the snow leopard. Retaliatory killing is the number one threat to this endangered cat. This story explores the struggles and solutions they have found to a more peaceful co-existence with snow leopards. Dolma and Chodon as women in the the community, have now earned the respect and support in Kibber and are now asked to particpate as decision makers in the community meetings. They are now recognized as conservation leaders and have created ways for other women in the village to engage in conservation practices conserving wildlife and landscapes in Asia.
