Scientific evidence shows that wolves were our first teachers, an ancestral relationship borne out of community and survival. From Wolf Connection’s first days, they have witnessed this collaborative bond– the magic it catalyzes and lives it saves. They continue to distill these lessons from wolves into challenging, initiatory social/emotional programs and experiences that transform lives, both human and wolf. Wolf Connection is home to 40 and counting wolves and wolfdogs, all of which have been rescued from often life-threatening circumstances.
Wolf Connection was founded by Teo Alfero, a mentor and outdoor youth counselor certified to work within California's court and school systems. The movie highlights the contributions of Teo, his wife Renee, and a dedicated team of skilled professionals. The Wolf Connection team is composed of compassionate and knowledgeable individuals who diligently care for rescued wolves and provide impactful programs for underserved populations. Their profound understanding of these majestic animals and steadfast commitment to serving the community foster a powerful bond between humans and wolves, transforming lives.
At the same time, the documentary follows the ongoing completion of the second den, an expansion project of the sanctuary, via Philanthropist David Casselman who has a background in creating elephant sanctuaries in Southeast Asia. Viewers will discover the transformative renovations that created more space for the wolves to roam freely and improved viewing
opportunities for visitors.
The land Wolf Connection inhabits, the power of the group experience as an antidote to isolation, the healing of interacting with wolves, and the acts of service are some of the most potent elements of Wolf Connection experiences. Through this growing platform, they are also helping change the narratives about wolves that have been passed down for centuries while
sharing the essence of these majestic, often misunderstood animals. Tune in to witness the magic!
