JP Rothbone and his Sniveling Cronies have designed an amazing water filtration system that would allow everyone on Earth to have pure, clean drinking water. In true Rothbone fashion though, JP sets off to pollute ALL the Earth's water so that everyone would need his filter. While searching for JP's secret lair, the Boneheads are shipwrecked on an uncharted desert isle. The castaways realize it is the very island where JP is about to unleash a terrible storm that will rain down pollution over the entire planet's water supply.
Water is the most important substance on Earth, responsible for all life. In this documentary segment, students learn all the ways water is vital to the survival of every living thing on Earth. First, students understand all the unique properties of water, its different states, and how water behaves under different conditions. Next, students learn that we can't make any more water, all the water on earth is all there ever was, and all there ever will be. Water moves around the planet through the oceans, rivers, evaporation and down again through rain. And finally, in the wake of the Gulf Oil Spill, students learn about the dangers of such disasters and how scientists are working to clean up the mess.
In the NewsFlash!, students learn about a real life organization that is working tirelessly to bring pure, clean drinking water to impoverished areas across the globe. Water Missions International designs, builds, delivers and installs water filtrations systems in third world areas bringing pure water to people who have been forced to drink polluted water.
In the "Your Have the Power" song, kids learn that water is precious and should not be wasted. This upbeat song teaches kids that they have the power to conserve water simply by turning off the faucet when they brush their teeth.
